A new version of the DOS emulator ported to the GP2X has been released. Changes are:Linked an SDL with USB keyboard support. If you use these you must set usescancodes=false in the dosbox.conf under the SDL section. The latest M_HT dynarec (v3?), it adds a bit more speed, but noticable to the user. Download this release from the GP2X Archive here.

To coincide with our review of the DS and DSi compatible flashcart (check it out here), the AceKard AK2i, we are giving away a brand new AK2i courtesy of GameKool. To enter, all you have to do is answer the following question:
How many cameras does the Nintendo DSi have?
It is a dead easy question and should take you longer to write the email than to find the answer! To submit your entry please email it to compo@emuholic.com with the subject "AK2i Competition" and the answer to the question in the email body. All the correct entries will be put into a virtual hat and one winner will be picked at random. The closing date is 23:59:59 GMT Sunday 11th January 2009 so you have just over a week to enter.
Rules are as follows:
- The prize is one (1) AceKard AK2i. Delivery costs are included in the prize but the winner may be responsible for any other charges such as customs taxes. - Only one entry per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified. - Entries will only be accepted by email at compo@emuholic.com with the subject "AK2i Competition" and the answer to the question in the body. - The winning person will be notified by email and will have seven days to respond. Failure to respond within this time will result in disqualification and another winner will be chosen. - Rules may be updated at any time if needed.
Thanks to our sponsor GameKool for providing the AK2i. Please check out their site for gaming hardware for DS, PSP, 360 and loads more.

A new flashcart which is compatible with the DSi has been released. It claims to be by the R4 team but I have been talking to a contact who says these are unofficial clones, the real R4i will be available in the future but for now any of these are clones... so you have been warned! This cart claims the following features:- SLOT-1 flash card supporting the latest Nintendo DSi/NDSi console (also supports NDS and NDS Lite) - Same size as an original cards - Supports SDHC microsd/transflash TF memory cards - Multi-media features - Runs that homebrew and games - Multilingual interface (simply download system files in the desired langauge) - Currently features English, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) menu system languages - Intuitive touch screen menu system - USB 2.0 TF card reader/writer included You can purchase the R4i Revolution here for $19.99.
Also, keep an eye out in the early new year for our AK2i flash cart review, the first available flash cart for the DSi. To tie in with the review we will be giving away a brand new AK2i courtesy of GameKool.

TopToy DSTTi released (DSi compatible)

The second DSi compatible flash cart is now available to purchase for just $21.00. The DSTTi will start shipping in 2 to 5 days so it is unlikely you will get it before Christmas but stocks are limited so it is recommended to get your order in fast. I believe the cart has the same functionality as the DSTT which scored very well in our review earlier in the year, this of course has the added bonus of working on the DSi. You can read our review of the DSTT here and purchase the DSTTi from Dealextreme here or from GameKool here.
